Tallest building in Rockland a hotel with nautical flair
A $2.9 million, five-story, 26-room boutique hotel on Rockland’s Main Street is slated to open during the first week of May after nearly two years of construction.
The 250 Main Hotel, which is owned by Cabot and Heidi Lyman of the Thomaston-based Lyman Morse Boatbuilding Inc., will employ 20 year-round staff members, with a larger seasonal staff expected during the peak months of July and August, according to the Bangor Daily News.
Due to its close proximity to Rockland’s waterfront, 250 Main’s aesthetics are geared towards the nautical, featuring light fixtures traditionally used aboard yachts, in addition to a frame of a boat being affixed to the wall of a fireplace in the lobby.
