Biddeford firm scores $15M Navy Contract

The U.S. Navy has awarded a $15 million, five-year contract to the Biddeford architectural and engineering firm Oak Point Associates to support Naval Facilities Engineering Command projects at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery and other Navy facilities across New England.

The majority of Oak Point’s work will take place in Maine at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, in addition to other areas in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command’s mid-Atlantic region, which stretches from Maine to North Carolina.

In addition to construction and renovation work, Oak Point’s contract work also includes life safety code studies, interior space planning, design studies, engineering, design site work and landscaping.

“Through this contract, Oak Point Associates will provide invaluable support services to our Navy that will help strengthen military installations across New England, like Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and bolster our Navy in the process,” U.S. Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King said in a joint statement. “We applaud the Navy on its decision and congratulate the hardworking men and women at Oak Point Associates on this achievement.”
