Seafood retailer setting up shop in Bangor

A Milbridge seafood retailer is in the midst of a renovation project to convert a Bangor filling station into a seafood shop.

Dorr Lobster owner, Chad Dorr, told the Bangor Daily News that the Broadway location will sell live lobsters, crab meat, fresh fish and frozen products, in addition to seafood rolls and chowders. A grand opening is slated for June 4, with an early opening possibly happening as soon as May 12.

The single fisherman for the company — Richard Dorr, the father of owner Chad Dorr — has been operating under the banner of Dorr Lobster since 1977. The decision to opening the Bangor location came following the success of opening a market in Ellsworth a few years ago.

“I really stress having local, quality seafood at a reasonable price,” Chad Dorr told the BDN.
