Billboards? Too bland. Popup advertising? That’s old hat. Sponsored Facebook posts? Impersonal. Being the primary sponsor of a truck driven by a Fort Kent native in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series? That’s just the sort of promotion the South Portland-based Klixel8 will be getting on Friday night.

Klixel8, which develops interactive image tech for e-commerce sites, mobile apps and e-books, will be sponsoring the No. 2 truck driven by Austin Theriault at the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 from the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday. It will be Theriault’s second race of the 2016 Camping World Truck season, and will be broadcast live nationally on the FS1 network.

For those not familiar with the world of stock car and auto racing, the Camping World Truck Series is one of three national divisions of auto racing owned by NASCAR, where drivers pit modified pickup trucks on tracks across the country, including the legendary Daytona International Speedway.

“The Klixel8 team is thrilled to be partnering with driver Austin Theriault and Brad Keselowski Racing in this weekend’s truck Series race,” Steve Jordan, CEO and co-founder of Klixel8, said in a statement. “Klixel8 is a Maine company and Austin Theriault is a very talented Maine driver. We are proud to be onboard with him at Charlotte in the No. 2 Ford.”
