Ground broken for eight-lane, rooftop expansion at Bayside Bowl

The owners of the Portland-based Bayside Bowl were joined by construction, design and landscaping teams on Friday for the official groundbreaking of a major expansion at the popular bowling alley in the city’s Bayside Neighborhood.

The expansion, which has been in the works since February 2015 in several iterations, will see the addition of eight lanes, a rooftop deck and a mezzanine level for hosting events at the six-year-old bowling alley.

“Bayside Bowl opened six years ago and launched a bowling renaissance in Maine,” Charlie Mitchell, Bayside co-owner, said in a statement. “Now with this expansion we can finally accommodate all the new bowlers who have come to love the game and the unrivaled experience Bayside Bowl has to offer.”
