Bangor Savings opens the doors of 54th location

A little over a month after marking the opening of a $5 million branch on Marginal Way in Portland on June 6, Bangor Savings Bank opened up another branch in Brunswick on Monday.

The opening of the Brunswick branch wraps up a $10 million expansion by the state-chartered bank into southern Maine that included the Marginal Way opening and the opening of a location on Middle Street in Portland in January.

According to the Bangor Daily News the Brunswick location, which is the bank’s 54th office, is of note as the lots were vacant for several years following a three-alarm fire in 2011 that destroyed a house on the location built in 1837. Bangor Savings purchased the lots in November, according to the BDN.
