Thistle Inn’s restaurant and pub closes indefinitely

The restaurant and pub at the Boothbay Harbor-based Thistle Inn has closed its doors indefinitely.

“It just wasn’t financially feasible anymore,” Max Ross, who bought the six-room inn in 2006, told the Boothbay Register. “In the last year-and-a-half I’ve seen a steady decline in revenue.”

Ross added that it’s likely that the restaurant will open at some point in the future, but an outside tenant will likely run the eatery, allowing him to focus on lodging, according to the Register.

“I have had some interest from a couple different parties who were looking to move forward with the lease,” Ross told the Register.
