Mark Eastman, a real estate broker and owner of Ocean’s Edge Realty, told the American that 2016 will likely be the best year he’s had since setting up shop in Bucksport in 2003. Eastman added that his real estate company has already had 55 residential home sales this year. Last year’s total? 28.

Eastman told the American that there doesn’t appear to be a set demographic for people moving to Bucksport. He’s sold houses to both younger and older buyers. Kathy Coogan, a broker and co-owner of Two Rivers Realty, said that the 72 residential sales Two Rivers has had this year includes buyers from states including Florida and the Carolinas, many of which have been older, but not yet retired.
