Maine heating fuel survey shows steady prices

Heating oil prices in the state of Maine remain steady as residents gear up for the state’s cold season.

The Governor’s Energy Office conducted its weekly heating fuel price survey on Sept. 12 and found the current statewide average cash price for No. 2 heating oil was $1.88, a one cent increase from the Aug. 25 heating survey. The average statewide price for kerosene held at $2.41, unchanged from the same survey.

Propane prices rose a slight three cents since the late August report to $2.18 per gallon, according to the survey.
