How 'bout them apples? Darling's attracts buyers with local vouchers

Event tickets, iPads, toaster ovens — it’s not unusual for car dealers to offer all types of incentives to lure buyers onto the lot, but Darling’s Auto Group has a new, locally-sourced twist in its latest offer.

“We want you to enjoy this time of the year with your family and friends at one of our local apple orchards or farm stands,” Darling’s President Jay Darling says in an ad promoting the offer as he gets his fill of local apples. “So if you purchase a vehicle in September we’ll give you $100 to spend on locally grown food at your favorite place.”

The buy local deal runs until the end of September at any of Darling’s locations in Bangor, Ellsworth, Bangor and Augusta.
