Owners of Middle Eastern food truck to open Portland restaurant
The owners of CN Shawarma, which bills itself as “Arabian BBQ on wheels,” plans a 1,452-square-foot restaurant in the city’s East Bayside food hub.
The eatery's husband and wife owners, Clay Norris and Jenna Friedman, told the Bangor Daily News that parting with the blue food truck was difficult. “We are proud of the truck, it got us here,” Norris told the BDN.
Baharat, which will be located on the ground floor of the new rental complex at 89 Anderson when it opens in December, will feature the same sort of Middle Eastern flavor that fans of CN Shawarma have come to expect, including grilled local lamb, poultry and fish for kebabs and the addition of citrus-infused cocktails.
