Maine Magazine, Maine Home+Design co-founder leaves post

Susan Grisanti, the co-creator and editor-in-chief of Maine Media Collective, which is behind well-known publications including “Maine Home+Design,” “Maine Magazine” and “Old Port Magazine,” has left the company after a decade.

“The years have flown by so quickly,” Grisanti’s partner and publisher, Kevin Thomas, said in a news release, the Bangor Daily News reported. “When Susan Grisanti and I started the business we knew there was great potential for our idea and instead of listening to the naysayers, we went to work to create a magazine — and organization — we are both very proud of. As with all milestones however, some are marked with change and my partner Susan has moved on to pursue other opportunities.”

According to the BDN, Rebecca Falzano, former managing editor of “Maine Home+Design” and editor-at-large at “Maine Magazine” will assume the role of editor-in-chief at Maine Media Collective on Monday.

In addition to publishing various Maine-centric magazines, the Portland-based Maine Media Collective also owns a brand agency and art galleries and has revenues exceeding $6 million, according to the BDN.
