P&C Insurance, formerly Paquin & Carroll Insurance, announced Tuesday that Josh Fearon has been promoted to president, succeeding Roland Eon, who is retiring.

Fearon, who had been a vice president, was named president effective Jan. 1. Eon, whose last day is Jan. 6, has been with the Biddeford agency for 30 years.

In a release announcing the leadership transition, the company noted that Eon will maintain an active role in P&C operations after his retirement, including continuing to serve on its board of managers and on the board of directors for Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution.

“I have enjoyed mentoring Josh over the years as we both share the same vision for P&C Insurance. He is well-seasoned in the business,” Eon said in a statement. “I have complete confidence in him and the leadership team to transition P&C Insurance to a new level of success.”

A Saco native, Fearon spent four years working at Unum before joining P&C Insurance, where he has been vice president of commercial insurance for the past decade.

“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to follow in Roland’s footsteps and those that preceded him in our organization,” he said. “Our management team is excited for the opportunity to lead the agency into the future and we have a great staff to support us in all of our endeavors.”
