$6.2M expansion at Procter & Gamble's Auburn plant

Procter & Gamble’s Tambrands plant in Auburn, a 530,000-square-foot facility purchased in 1997, has been going strong with production of the Tampax Pearl tampon line. In 2012, production growth resulted in a 50,000-square-foot expansion to add three production lines.

Now a $6.2 million expansion is underway on a 33,212-square-foot addition, the Sun Journal reported.

"It'll give us space for up to two more production lines," Rick Malinowski, Tambrands' supply network operations leader, told the newspaper.

Tambrands is Auburn’s largest private employer, and it supplies all of Northern America and Latin America.

Malinowski said the company is looking to grow market share in other countries.
