Acting U.S. attorney named for District of Maine

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Portland said Monday it has named an interim U.S. attorney.

Richard W. Murphy, previously first assistant, will serve as acting U.S. attorney for the District of Maine.

Thomas E. Delahanty II, who had served in the role since July 2010, was among 46 Obama-era U.S. attorneys asked by President Donald Trump to submit a resignation.

Delahanty was nominated by President Barack Obama.

Murphy has served as assistant U.S. attorney for 27 years and as first assistant since September 2010.
