Luke’s Lobster co-op grabs attention of national magazine

The national expansion of Luke’s Lobster chain of restaurants while doing some good at home in Maine has caught the attention of a national magazine with more than 8 million unique monthly visitors.

Luke Holden, co-founder of the business and a Cape Elizabeth native, tells Paste Magazine that the key to the company’s growth has been the investment in a lobster co-op in Tenants Harbor.

Holden has committed 50% of profits to the Tenants Harbor Fishermen’s Co-op, which he says gives Luke’s a more direct link to the processor and eliminates the middleman.

For more details check out the Paste story here.

Luke's Lobster has locations in Tenants Harbor, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Washington, D.C. Through a third-party operator, it has five locations in Japan.
