Bangor's waterfront concert series is still without a contract

The company that runs Bangor's waterfront concert series is still without a contract, seven months after the last deal expired and two weeks before the start of the summer series.

The Bangor Daily News reported Monday that negotiations on a new contract got snagged over the volume level of music and the duration of the new deal.

In the meantime, Waterfront Concerts, which has managed concerts at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion for the past five years, will continue to manage concerts under the old guidelines.

“My expectation is that before the concert season ends in August we would have a contract,” City Council Chairman Joe Baldacci told the BDN. “We’re negotiating a 10-year contract. It may be somewhere between five and 10 years.”
