Maine Audubon promotes acting director, an L.L.Bean veteran

Andy Beahm, who spent 34 years at L.L.Bean and has been serving as acting director of Maine Audubon since January, is the Falmouth wildlife conservation organization's new executive director.
The Maine Audubon board of trustees named Andy Beahm as its permanent executive director.
Beahm, who spent 34 years at L.L.Bean, has served as acting executive director at the Falmouth wildlife conservation organization since January.
“Wildlife conservation in Maine needs Maine Audubon’s leadership now more than ever,” board Vice Chair Stacy Stitham, who led the search process, said in a news release. “With a career-long track record of effective leadership and a deep and demonstrated commitment to Maine Audubon’s work and mission, Andy has proven he is the right person to lead this organization at this critical moment.”
Beahm replaces Ole Amundsen III, who resigned after less than a year at the nonprofit, citing the desire to spend more time with his family.
Beahm joined the Maine Audubon staff last summer as deputy director following 34 years in various executive roles at L.L.Bean, including serving as vice president of business transformation, where he helped direct a company-wide operational improvement process. He also had served as vice president of internal audit, vice president of brand services and director of strategic planning. Beahm managed a strategic review that prompted L.L.Bean’s retail expansion from Freeport to over 40 cities. He has also worked extensively with the nonprofit community.

I am honored by the opportunity to work in this new capacity with our dedicated board and talented staff.”
