Bridgton Hospital named one of nation’s ‘Top Critical Access Hospitals to Know’

Central Maine Healthcare’s Bridgton Hospital has been named one of the country’s “62 Critical Access Hospitals to Know in 2017” by Becker’s Hospital Review.

The hospital industry magazine recognized Bridgton Hospital’s expanded services and improved operations, including awards and rankings from respected organizations including iVantage Health Analytics, Healthgrades, the National Rural Health Association and Medicare star ratings, among others.

Bridgton, which became a subsidiary of Central Maine Medical Center in 1999, specializes in women's health, providing fertility, breast and cervical cancer, bladder control and menopause services to rural women and families, Becker’s noted in its review.

“Once again, having Bridgton Hospital included on Becker’s Hospital Review Top Critical Access Hospital to Know list is an honor,” David Frum, president of Bridgton and Rumford hospitals, said in a news release. “I want to thank staff and providers for their hard work every day providing quality care for our patients in the Lakes Region. This hospital has been a fixture in our community for 100 years, and we hope to continue to provide it with the high level of care and service it’s known for 100 more.”

In 2016, Bridgton Hospital was named a Leapfrog Top Rural Hospital and a National Rural Hospital Association Top 20 Critical Access Hospital in Quality Performance.
