Portland developer moves into Biddeford market

Tim Greenway Jim Brady, the developer who has been instrumental in the planned makeover of 58 Fore St. in Portland, now has his sights on Biddeford.

Developer Jim Brady, who was instrumental in the effort to redevelop the old Portland Co. site at 58 Fore St., is now looking to Biddeford.

The Portland Press Herald reported that Brady acquired a former U.S. Post Office building, at 27 Washington St., for redevelopment. He is also keeping his eye out for possible sites for a boutique hotel, the newspaper reported.

Biddeford has been growing quickly. Since 2008, the Press Herald reported, Biddeford mill district has garnered $54.4 million in private investment, resulting in 250 new residential units. Another $77.5 million in investment is on the books, including 230 new residential units that have been planned or approved.
