Portland's PRC Industrial Supply buys Belgrade conveyor company

PRC Industrial Supply has acquired ACE Conveyor Services of Belgrade, including assets and its three-person staff, the Portland-based company announced Wednesday.

Kevin Easler, vice president and general manager of PRC said the deal, which is effective immediately, came after several months of negotiation and “it was mutual respect that made this deal possible.”

ACE’s three employees, including president and founder Tom Hudson, will operate out of the PRC Portland office, and ACE’s Oakland Road location in Belgrade will be used for storage, Easler said.

Hudson said that he built his company over 20 years. “We’ve stayed small, and that has made us nimble and very efficient at what we do, but it has come at the cost of growing to a sustainable level.” Hudson, who has more than 35 years in the industrial rubber business, will help facilitate PRC’s long-term growth strategy as well as become a sales and service representative for PRC, Easler said.

PRC Industrial Supply also has locations in Bangor and Burlington, Mass., and specializes in conveyor belt, industrial hose and fluid power components sales and service. It was established in 1895 as Portland Rubber Co. It’s a wholly owned subsidiary of Singer Equities and SBP Holdings, headquartered in Houston, Texas.
