Maine Credit Union League revamps website

The Maine Credit Union League has given its website a makeover, updating both its look and content.

"Our top priority for our new site was to have a site with the user experience in mind,” Todd Mason, president and CEO of the Westbrook-based trade organization, said in Monday’s news release. “We wanted a site that would be innovative, intuitive and interactive for our visitors and users.”

Mason added that the revamped site aims to stay fresh, current and provide information and resources for credit unions and other constituencies. He also said the site will be updated and enhanced on an ongoing, continuous basis.

Formed in 1938, the Maine Credit Union League is the state trade association for 55 credit unions and more than 686,000 members.

Lending at Maine's credit unions grew by $355 million to $5.5 billion in 2017, an increase of nearly 7% over 2016, according to a tally released by the Maine Credit Union League in March.

More than half of Maine's population, 53%, belong to a credit union, making Maine the country's fifth strongest in terms of membership per capita.
