Bissell Brothers to 'test drive' Milo taproom

Bissell Brothers is having a “test drive” at its new Milo taproom tomorrow.

The brewing company, which has a brewery and taproom at Thompson’s Point in Portland, is opening the Three Rivers taproom to the public, according to a Facebook post. The taproom and brewery is at 52 Elm St., which is Route 11, south of downtown.

“The wonderful beers coming out of this brewery are not quite ready yet, but we just can't wait any longer,” the post says.

The owners, brothers Peter and Noah Bissell, are natives of Milo, which is in Piscataquis County, 40 miles north of Bangor.

Saturday’s event will feature a selection from its Portland brewery and is also partnering with Spruce Mill Farm and Kitchen, of Dover-Foxcroft, which will provide food.

In February, Mybeerbuz reported that the site will have a sales and tasting room and feature “funky, targ and sour barrel-and-foudre-aged 750ml bottles” and “hoppy styles” that will be brewed only in MIlo, in 750ml and growler fills.

The brothers are also committed to improving the Milo community, the post said.
