Ocean’s Balance of Biddeford, Flowfold of Gorham and American Roots of Westbrook are in the running for a $100,000 cash prize after being named finalists of Greenlight Maine's Season 4 television series.

The finalists, revealed Sunday morning on the show’s 100th episode, will go head to head in a pitch-off on Saturday, March 23, at University of Maine’s Hauck Auditorium in Orono.

“Season 4 proved to be our most impressive year for participating startups based on scalability, feasibility, quality and innovation,” Brian Corcoran, CEO of Shamrock Sports & Entertainment and Portland Media Group partner, said in a news release Monday.

Last year’s overall winner was Westbrook-based North Spore Mushroom Co., which also won the $50,000 top prize in Gorham Savings Bank’s sixth annual LaunchPad small business competition.

Two of this year’s Greenlight Maine finalists, American Roots and Flowfold, are featured in the March 4 print edition of Mainebiz, which focuses on manufacturing. Ben Waxman and Whitney Reynolds, representing American Roots on Greenlight Maine, were 2017 Mainebiz Next honorees. Ocean’s Balance has also been profiled in Mainebiz.

James Morin represents Flowfold in the current season of Greenlight Maine, while Mitchell Lench and Lisa Scali represent Ocean’s Balance.
