Construction firm sues former bookkeeper

A Eustis woman is being sued by J.L. Brochu Inc. of Stratton, her former employer, on charges that she embezzled more than $452,000 from the construction firm over the span of four years.

Brochu, a logging and road-construction company, filed a complaint in Franklin County Superior Court against its former bookkeeper Tracy Ricker, according to the Morning Sentinel. The complaint alleges Ricker systematically defrauded the company by using Brochu checks to misappropriate funds between March 2005 and February 2009.

No criminal charges have been filed, but the case is being investigated by Maine State Police, according to the report. Ricker’s attorney denies the allegations.
