The town of Richmond yesterday gave its support to an East Boothbay boat builder’s efforts to expand its operations there.
About 20 residents voted unanimously at a special town meeting to support Hodgdon Yachts’ application for a $400,000 state Community Development Block Grant, the Kennebec Journal reported. Municipal approval is required for Hodgdon to get the grant, which would help the company expand into a 30,000-square-foot section of the Richmond Business and Manufacturing Center.
Hodgdon Yachts plans to manufacture yacht interiors at the Richmond location, and hopes to add 35 jobs there, the paper reported.
