From a record 505 nominations for the 2025 Maine Family Business Awards, 44 have advanced to the semifinal round, according to the Institute for Family-Owned Business.
“We had applications from all across Maine and all different types of companies," Catherine Wygant Fossett, executive director of the Portland-based trade association, told Mainebiz. “This year is our 25th anniversary and this is the most nominations and applications we’ve ever had.”
Wygant Fossett was honored as a Mainebiz Woman to Watch in 2024.
The list of semifinalists spans a range of industries from photography to hospitality. (Scroll down for the full list).
Later this month, 25 of the 44 companies will be chosen as finalists, and winners will be announced at a gala event in Portland on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The Maine Family Business Awards will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Thompson's Point in Portland. More information is available here.
