Skowhegan hospital promotes longtime employee to CEO

Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan has named Tiffany Comis as its next CEO.

Comis succeeds Richard “Dick” D. Willett, who led the hospital for more than three decades and worked there for more than 50 years. Redington-Fairview, whose roots go back to 1952, is an independent critical access hospital.

Willett joined Redington-Fairview in September 1972 as director of pharmacy and was promoted to CEO in October 1991. Under his leadership, the hospital expanded and modernized its facilities.

Throughout his tenure, he advocated for rural and community health care. His service included leadership roles with the Maine Hospital Association’s board of directors, the Public Policy Council, Maine Hospital Solutions and the Rural Hospital Task Force.

He also contributed to statewide health care governance and local economic development through the Medical Mutual Insurance Company of Maine Advisory Council and the Somerset Economic Development Corp.

About the new CEO

Comis has been with the hospital for more than two decades.

She began her career at the hospital as a staff nurse. She went on to serve in numerous leadership roles, including emergency department nurse manager, director of ambulatory services, chief nursing officer and most recently, chief operating officer.

Comis holds a master’s degree in nursing and a master’s in business administration from Saint Joseph’s College in Standish.

She serves on several professional boards, including the Maine Hospital Association’s board of directors, the Organization of Maine Nurse Leaders Executive Board and the Kennebec Valley Community College Board of Trustees.
