How would you describe your company’s core mission?:
Maine Foodie Tours offers educational, entertaining and tasty tours showcasing local, sustainable foods and the rich culinary artistry and entrepreneurial talent so prevalent in Maine.
What were the key factors in your company’s growth?:
Hiring the best talent to conduct the tours and partnering with engaging restaurant owners, chefs, bakers, chocolatiers, cheese mongers, fish handlers, brewers and others to offer amazing foods, beverages and stories to our guests.
How have you adjusted to the rapid growth?:
We have remained nimble, bringing talent onboard part-time and as demand warrants, such as our social media manager, who generates and responds to growing customer feedback. We also promoted select tour guides to tour managers in each of our locations.
Do you have plans to hire additional employees?:
We look forward to continuing our hiring as we expand our offerings in existing towns and establish tours in new areas of the state.
What can we expect for 2017:
We are likely to expand to Ogunquit and add to our growing types of tours, events and classes in Portland.
