Associated General Contractors of Maine received national recognition as a recipient of an AGC Chapter Safety Award.
The award was bestowed by AGC of America as part of its National AGC Safety Awards program in the category of chapters with 126 to 250 members.
AGC of America hosts the safety awards each year across the nation’s chapters. There are two award categories: AGC Chapter Safety Awards and AFC Member Awards.
The Chapter Safety Awards are based on a weighted average of participation and the overall incident rate of the chapter’s general contractor members.
Each chapter is divided into four size categories: Fewer than 125 members; 126 to 250 members; 251 to 400 members; and over 400 members.
“We are proud of our members' continued commitment to promoting the highest standards of safety in our industry,” said Kelly Flagg, AGC Maine’s executive director and a 2025 Mainebiz Outstanding Woman in Business.
The awards program was established in 1991. It’s considered to be a tool that offers members an opportunity to evaluate their safety records. Members with excellent safety records can compete for national recognition.
The awards process compares member’s safety record with other members across the country, based on the member’s size and construction type.
AGC Maine will gather in November with other recipients.
Chartered in 1951, AGC Maine is headquartered in Augusta and has members statewide that include contractor and affiliate members.
