Since 1963, Pond Cove Millwork has helped define some of Maine’s most recognized spaces; delivering handcrafted architectural millwork with precision, professionalism, and purpose. Today, under new leadership, we’re honoring that legacy while building the future, one detail at a time.
Pond Cove Millwork began in Cape Elizabeth, later operated in South Portland, and in 2018, moved into a 32,000 square-foot facility in Saco. This move wasn’t just about expansion, it enabled a full redesign of our workflow. With new CNC capabilities and a continuous, linear production layout, we’ve improved productivity, reduced lead times, and allowed our team to focus more on skilled craftsmanship.
We’ve invested in modern infrastructure that reflects our values: LED lighting for energy efficiency, advanced dust and air filtration for health and safety, and two automotive-grade spray booths to elevate our finishing process. These enhancements support our ongoing commitment to quality, sustainability, and employee well-being.
Two of the most influential figures in our history are Peter Flaherty and Tracy Chadbourne. As co-owners and mentors, they led with integrity and built lasting relationships grounded in hard work, attention to detail, and genuine care for customers and employees.
Succession at Pond Cove wasn’t improvised, it was intentional. In 2016, Peter and Tracy began discussing future ownership, and by 2018, Jason Taylor, Bryan Sheedy, and Aaron Nutter, each with deep operational experience, emerged as the next generation of leadership.
An initial internal stock purchase in 2022 allowed the team to gain ownership experience while helping the company achieve record revenues. In 2024, the full transition was finalized with support from Norway Savings Bank and seller financing.
“I’m proud of all the projects I’ve been a part of and relationships I’ve built for the last 20 years with Pond Cove and look forward to facing new challenges as an owner for the next 20 years.”
— Bryan Sheedy, Co-Owner
We’ve proudly contributed to some of Maine’s most high-profile institutional, commercial, and health care spaces, including:
We’re currently upgrading the atheltic facilities at UMaine’s Shawn Walsh Center and Alfond Sports Arena in Orono with PC Construction; including custom team lounges, concession areas, and phenolic wall and ceiling panels for high-impact team areas.
Upcoming projects include:
We’ve earned the trust of top general contractors across the state by consistently delivering high-quality results, on time, every time.
“Pond Cove Millwork has a reputation for getting the job done, and our customers continue to trust us on the biggest and most challenging projects.”
— Aaron Nutter, Co-Owner
We are proudly AWI Certified and FSC Certified, demonstrating our commitment to quality standards and sustainable sourcing.
We’ve surpassed 20,000 work hours with zero lost time, maintain an EMR below 1.0, and actively collaborate with MEMIC and SafetyWorks! to refine our safety practices, training, and documentation.
Pond Cove employs 35 skilled professionals and a trusted network of local subcontractors. We’re always looking for experienced project managers, installers, and fabricators, and are committed to training the next generation of Maine craftspeople.
We offer:
“If you want a successful company, you need to treat your employees like family. They are your company.”
— Jason Taylor, Co-Owner
We also show up for our community. Last year, we partnered with Sweetser, a Maine-based behavioral health nonprofit, to raise the most money in their charity softball tournament’s history.
Whether you’re a GC, architect, or developer, our team brings a solution-oriented mindset and deep experience to every project. We collaborate early to simplify detailing, manage cost, and align scope with real-world conditions.
“Having worked with Pond Cove for many years on numerous projects, their quality products and workmanship exceed industry standards consistently”
— Darren Crawford, Superintendent, Langford & Low Construction
Jason, Aaron, and Bryan are focused on building long-term relationships. Their priority over the next 3—5 years is connecting with Maine’s current and next generation of industry leaders, trade schools, and training programs.
When a project needs urgency, creativity, and craftsmanship, they want to be Maine’s first call. Whether replicating historic moldings or problem-solving custom details, they are ready to step in and get the job done right.
If you’re planning a project and need a trusted millwork partner, we’d love to be part of the conversation.
