In recent years, Searsport has made great strides in setting a course for economic investment. A Downtown Plan, Downtown Tax Increment Financing District, followed by the successful creation and implementation of a Façade Grant Program, has demonstrated Searsport’s advocacy for business investment.
In the next couple years, Searsport’s quaint and historic downtown will transform into the Historic center of a century ago, with a downtown revitalization project, consisting of over a mile of restored infrastructure, new parking, and directional signage.
