In recent years, the Town of Orrington has emerged from that of a primarily rural residential community to a community of business advocacy and investment opportunity. An evolution with strategic purpose, adopting a collaborative approach to business development while protecting the quality of life and rural character that residents embrace. Recent municipal initiatives have opened the door to a promising Orrington future. We hope you will consider and choose Orrington for your business investment.
East Orrington Industrial Park: The East Orrington Industrial Park, due to its proximity to the power grid, continues to attract energy related development investment. Additional lots are available for lease or purchase.
Eagle Point Business Park: The Eagle Point Business Park, 163 acres featuring 35 lots, offers significant industrial and commercial development potential. Clearing and road construction is nearing completion, utilities installation is scheduled, while the park is already attracting development interest.
Eagle Point Business Park offers a unique layout that embraces the beauty of its location, along the shores of the Penobscot River. The historic walking trails throughout the property are being preserved and enhanced. The park provides for a diversity of uses including, but not limited to, agriculture production, energy production, industrial/commercial storage and warehousing. Located along the Route 15 corridor, with access to Interstate 95 and 395, the park offers the perfect location for development investment.
Baker Landing Boat Launch: The town’s 10-acre lot in South Orrington will be the location of the Baker Landing Boat Launch. The launch will consist of a 28-foot-wide ramp, vehicle trailer spots and regular vehicle parking. Launch capabilities will be suitable for all tidal conditions. The facility will serve not only Orrington, but the surrounding communities, providing access to the Penobscot River. Additional amenities will include picnic areas, hiking trails and campsites.
Permitting/Process Facilitation: It is our goal to provide you with guidance and facilitation in successfully navigating our permitting and approval processes. We work with you through the approval and successful implementation of your project.
Supporting Our Business Community: Orrington welcomes business investment, relocation and expansion. Our goal is to help create a healthy, vibrant and successful business community. Our land use regulations are frequently reviewed and updated to support business development opportunities.
Facade Grant Program: The newly established Facade Grant Program has proven valuable in supporting facade improvements and signage upgrades with matching grants. As Orrington continues to evolve with a more diversified business community, the support of existing and new businesses is vital to their success.
