Cole Haan to relocate to Scarborough

High-end footwear and handbag company Cole Haan will relocate its headquarters from Yarmouth to Scarborough this summer.

The company has leased 38,000 square feet of office space at in the Roundwood Business Park, according to a press release from CBRE/The Boulos Co., which brokered the deal between the company and landlord Ashley Drive Development LLC. Cole Haan will occupy the second and third floors of the 54,000-square-foot, three-story building.

The Cole Haan label was founded in 1928 in Chicago, and in 1975 was acquired by George Denney, a former leather cutter at a Maine factory, according to the company's website. It opened its first retail store in Freeport in 1982, and was acquired by Nike in 1988.
