Italian co. buys Lewiston manufacturer

An Italian firm has acquired Diamond Phoenix, a Lewiston company that manufactures material handling technology.

System Logistics, based in Modena, Italy, acquired Diamond Phoenix for an undisclosed amount, according to a company press release. Diamond Phoenix, a provider of automated warehousing and material handling systems, is expected to remain in Lewiston, but will in the long-run adopt its new parent company's name, according to the Sun Journal.

Diamond Phoenix was founded in 1946 as Lewiston Machine. According to the company's profile on LinkedIn, it has 1,000 employees.
