Maine Development Foundation taps new CEO

The Maine Development Foundation has tapped Washington County economic development official Harold Clossey to serve as its next leader.

Clossey will take over as president and CEO of the 250-member economic development nonprofit starting Jan. 20. Aldo Servello, MDF’s board chairman, said in a press release that its the group selected Clossey for his “strong work ethic and willingness to engage leaders from all walks of life.”

Servello added Clossey will lead the organization’s upcoming research-based efforts to guide economic policy for the state. Clossey takes over following the resignation of Edmund Cervone and after a period of interim leadership from Cheryl Miller.

The foundation was created by state government in 1978 to support economic, work force, leadership and community development statewide.
