New Hires

iCST LLC, an IT company in South Portland specializing in staff augmentation and software testing, recently hired Jeffrey Wall as director of business development and Robert Caron as technical recruiter for its Portland office.

Knight Property Services in Westbrook recently hired Michael Foley as operations manager.

Montalvo, international specialists in web tension control in Gorham, recently hired Ted Dufour as a software engineer. Dufour has 35 years of experience in semiconductors, database analytics and software and electrical engineering.

PDT Architects in Portland recently hired Jacob Beck, Abigail Hopkins Cram, Christian Prasch, Christian Schoewe and Allison Zuchman.

The Wellness Connection of Maine recently hired Christopher Tolford as controller, Danielle Porter as director of human resources and Jeff McElroy as director of production operations. Previously, Tolford was a supervisor with Macpage. Porter most recently worked as the manager of marketing and human resources at a biochemistry firm in Boston. McElroy is the former vice president of Backyard Farms in Madison.

Thompson & Bowie LLP, a law firm in Portland, recently hired Twain Braden as an associate. Braden will practice in the areas of admiralty and maritime and commercial litigation.

Eastern Maine Healthcare System in Brewer recently hired Robert Thompson as senior vice president and chief medical officer. Thompson is currently the chief quality and medical officer of Asante Health System in Medford, Ore., and will assume his duties on May 5.

RE/MAX Realty One in Saco recently hired Joshua Lagasse as a member of its sales team.

Preti Flaherty, a law firm in Portland, recently hired Rachel Green and Camden Hillas as associates. Green practices with the business law group in the firm's Portland office while Hillas practices with the bankruptcy and litigation groups in the firm's Concord, N.H., office.

Putney Inc., a pet pharmaceutical company in Portland, recently hired Richard Davan as director of regulatory affairs. Davan spent the previous 18 years in the human pharmaceutical industry.

Pen Bay Healthcare in Rockport recently hired Tom Jurewitz as Pen Bay Medical Center's pharmacy director.

Finance Authority of Maine in Augusta recently hired Bruce Wagner as CEO. Wagner brings a 40-year history as a senior executive to the role.

Norway Savings Bank recently hired Jill King as employment manager. King was previously with Unum.

Terry Garmey & Associates, a law firm in Portland, recently hired Jonathan Sahrbeck as an associate. Sahrbeck most recently served as an assistant attorney general for the state of Maine.


Gorham Savings Bank recently announced four promotions. Eric Andrews was promoted to chief banking officer; Cheryl Brandt to executive vice president, retail banking; Julie Case to vice president, senior risk and compliance officer; and Jeremy Clough to vice president, information security officer.

Friends of Casco Bay/Casco BAYKEEPER in South Portland recently elected Joan Benoit Samuelson and Paul Gregory to its board of directors. Samuelson is the founder and chair of the TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race in Cape Elizabeth while Gregory is an environmental specialist in the invasive species program of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.

OHI, a nonprofit in Hermon that provides support and services to people with intellectual disabilities, autism and mental illness, recently elected Cynthia Bergin to its board of directors. Bergin is the Camden National Bank, Brewer branch manager and retail banking officer.

Maine Audubon in Falmouth recently added Susan Hillman and Andy McClelland to its board of trustees. Hillman is professor of education at the University of New England and McClelland is the mobile marketing manager at L.L.Bean.


Karen Jones of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Portland recently earned the Accredited Buyer's Representation designation.

Susan Swanton, executive director of the Maine Marine Trades Association, was recently invited to take part in an event convened by President Obama to discuss strategies for helping the nation's nearly four million long-term unemployed get back into the labor market.

The Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation recently announced that it awarded $512,500 to three organizations in Portland in 2013. MaineHealth, Let's Go! Healthcare, received $500,000; City Year, Presumpscott Elementary School, received $7,500 in service time; and The Foundation for Maine's Community Colleges, Agricultural Sciences program at Kennebec Valley Community College, received $5,000.

Dana Jr. Award at the Maine State Bar Association's annual meeting held recently.
