King joins Senate tourism caucus

U.S. Sen. Angus King has joined U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and other elected officials on an informal Senate tourism group to help Maine’s tourism industry through policymaking.

King announced on Tuesday that he will work with federal agencies and industry groups to promote tourism as a member of the Senate tourism caucus. He said that will be accomplished by “reviewing and exploring important policy goals.”

“Indeed, tourism is one of the cornerstones of the Maine economy, supporting thousands of important jobs and helping communities to thrive,” King said in a prepared statement. “As a member of the Senate tourism caucus, I look forward to working with my colleagues to further the interests of Maine’s tourism industry.”
