UMA taps James Conneely as president

The University of Maine at Augusta has selected the former president of a Maryland college and an education consultant as its new president.

University of Maine System Chancellor James Page announced Tuesday that James Conneely will start as president at UMA on Jan. 19, according to the Associated Press. Conneely, a senior consultant at Keeling & Associates Inc., formerly served as president of Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore

The Kennebec Journal reported that Conneely, a Long Island native, will be paid $192,000 a year.

Conneely is following two interim presidents.
