Bangor area posts lowest gas prices in Maine at end of 2015

Drive to Bangor if you’re looking for cheap gasoline prices.

The Bangor Daily News reported that the Bangor area had the cheapest average gasoline prices of Maine’s three major cities as the statewide average held steady in the past week.

The national average also held steady at just under $2 per gallon, while Maine’s average of $2.07 per gallon for regular gasoline was about 28 cents lower than one year ago and 12 cents lower than a month ago, the newspaper reported.

The BDN reported that American Automobile Association surveys updated Monday show the Bangor metro area, at about $2.04 per gallon, as the lowest metro region in the state, followed by Lewiston-Auburn stations with an average of $2.06 per gallon and the Portland area with an average of about $2.10 per gallon.
