Brewer engineering firm CES acquires Saco-based Mohlin & Co.

Brewer-based civil engineering firm CES Inc. announced Monday that it has acquired the Saco-based consulting engineering firm Mohlin & Co.

The acquisition of Mohlin & Company will not only expand the company's physical presence in Southern Maine, but also provide a boost to CES' structural engineering services to heavy and light industrial clients, a CES press release said.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to welcome Bob [Mohlin, owner and president of Mohlin] and his staff to the CES team. We believe that both clients of Mohlin and CES will benefit from this acquisition," CES President and CEO Denis St. Peter said in a prepared statement. "By supplementing our structural engineering services with very experienced structural engineers and junior engineers and drafters at Mohlin, we are adding depth to the services we provide."

As part of the acquisition, Robert Mohlin, owner and president of Mohlin & Co., which was founded in 1982, will continue to serve as branch manager of the Saco location of CES. The firm will be known to current clients of Mohlin as Mohlin & Co., a division of CES.
