It's official: Boatbuilders show to move in '17

The Maine Boatbuilders Show, an early spring staple for the boating industry, said Nov. 23 it will move from its long-time site at 58 Fore St. in Portland

The 2017 show is set for March 24-26 and will be at the Portland Sports Complex, at 512 Warren Ave.

Portland Yacht Services, which produces the show, is led by Phineas and Joanna Sprague.

The site at 58 Fore St. is slated for conversion to a mixed-use complex. Developer CPB2 plans a $250 million development on 10 acres that will encompass the site.

The upcoming show, in its 30th year, will feature sailboats, power boats of all sizes and related nautical gear.
