Another Tim Hortons bakery closes

Tim Hortons appears to have an on-again, off-again personality in Maine and elsewhere.

The Morning Sentinel reported the Tim Hortons bakery in Waterville abruptly closed on New Year’s Eve.

Manager Jerri Vaillancourt, who has managed different Tim Hortons in Maine for the past 15 years, told the paper the Waterville location is the third to suddenly shut its doors on her.

The bakery had about 15 employees.

Scarborough bade adieu to Tim Hortons in October. And in November 2015, Tim Hortons closed at least six of its restaurants in Maine, including in South Portland and the Lewiston-Auburn area, prompting the Maine Department of Labor to send Rapid Response teams to assist people who lost their jobs.

That closure, Fortune magazine reported, was part of the Canadian chain apparently shuttering 21 locations altogether in New York and Maine.
