The U.S. Department of Transportation awarded $3.3 million in funding to 10 airports in Maine through the Federal Aviation Administration.

“Maine’s regional airports are vital pieces of our transportation system that help bolster the tourism industry and support jobs across our state,” Maine’s U.S. Sens. Susan Collins and Angus King said in a joint statement. “This important investment will enhance the safety and efficiency of our transportation networks and help support local economies across Maine.”

Collins is chairwoman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee.
