Danforth Inn, Camden Harbor Inn owners file for bankruptcy

The owners of the Danforth Inn in Portland and the Camden Harbor Inn filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 28, a day before the establishments were set to be sold at foreclosure auctions.

The Portland Press Herald reported the filings were made under the inns’ corporate names, Danforth Inn owner Tempo Dulu LLC and Camden Harbour Inn owner Breda LLC.

Raymond Brunyanszki and Oscar Verest, owners of the two luxury establishments, are being represented by Sam Anderson of Portland law firm Bernstein Shur. Timothy Norton of Portland law firm Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman, is representing the inns’ creditor, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust.

Brunyanszki last week announced the closure of the restaurant and bar inside the Danforth Inn, but said their financial problems were unrelated to the impending foreclosure, according to the Press Herald.

He had told the Bangor Daily News earlier this month that the businesses were hoping to negotiate a contract with their bank.
