Coulombe completes upscale rental projects in Boothbay Harbor

Paul Coulombe, owner of the Boothbay Country Club and various properties in the Boothbay region, has completed the redevelopments of two residential properties in downtown Boothbay Harbor into upscale rentals.
A developer deeply involved in Boothbay region projects has completed the redevelopments of two residential properties in downtown Boothbay Harbor into upscale rentals.
The Lincoln County News reported that Paul Coulombe, owner of the Boothbay Harbor Country Club and Oceanside Golf Resort, converted 101 Commercial St. in rentals now called Harbor Island View and 63 Townsend Ave. into rentals called On the Harbor House. An eventual project at another property Coulombe acquired — Cap’n Fish’s Waterfront Inn and Cod’s Head Fish House & BBQ at 63 Atlantic Ave. — could be in the works, too, pending town discussion regarding the area’s zoning.
On their website, the rental properties are advertised as “The Epitome of Coastal Living” and include membership benefits at the country club. The rentals go for $4,000 and $5,000 per week during peak season.
Coulombe, a Lewiston native, sold his Pinnacle Vodka and Calico Jack brands to Beam Inc. for $605 million in 2012. He has since invested $150 million of his own money in two golf resorts, five B&Bs, a lighthouse converted to an inn and other real estate in the Boothbay region. He made a substantial investment in his own home on nearby Southport Island
Last December, Coulombe’s interest in two properties on the marine-oriented east side of Boothbay Harbor sparked public debate over whether the town should allow mixed uses like food and hospitality businesses there.
