Shamrock Sports & Entertainment in Portland has launched a new division: Shamrock Signature, which will focus on original programming and event experiences.

Brian Corcoran, CEO and founder of Shamrock Sports & Entertainment, said the new division is a natural expansion of the strategic sports marketing his company has been providing for more than nine years. Shamrock Sports & Entertainment also offers property consulting, marketing, sales and creative services.

The company acts as a matchmaker, helping sports leagues, venues and philanthropies find corporate sponsors and naming rights. Its client roster includes NASCAR, NBA, the Invictus Games, Circuit of the Americas, Professional Bowlers Association, Brightline/Virgin Trains USA, America East Conference, Rugged Maniac and Red Bull Air Race.

“In a world where content is king and priceless experiences are in high demand, Shamrock was seeking to make a calculated bet on the development of proprietary custom content and events,” Corcoran said. “We are confident the best is yet to come as we continue to deliver proven performance to our valued property clients while developing Shamrock Signature content and experiences.”

Corcoran said Shamrock Signature will launch a sports docu-series, “Puckland,” which will provide all-access coverage of “the trials and tribulations of players, coaches, managers and other minor league hockey personnel” as they pursue their dreams of playing in the NHL.

Season 1 of “Puckland” features the New York Rangers ECHL affiliate Maine Mariners, who are led by former NHL All-Star Danny Briere serving as the team’s general manager and vice president of hockey operations.

The series premieres March 31 on NBCSports.com via six 10-minute digitally distributed sports shorts, a format similar to the NBC Sports production of “Vegas Gold,” which features the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights. “Puckland” will also premiere March 31 regionally on NewsCenter Maine via 30-minute linear/TV episodes running through May.

Corcoran said Puckland was made possible via a collaboration with Shamrock Signature that he led with producer Devon Platte. Platte, who lives on Portland’s Munjoy Hill, is a producer on such programs as “The Amazing Race,” “Religion of Sports” and “North Woods Law.”

Other Shamrock Signature events will be announced later this spring.
