Significant professional accomplishment: As company president, I’m honored to hold a leadership role in preserving the legacy of Sam’s Italian Foods, which has been in business since 1939. That includes overseeing our recent transition to employee ownership. I’m extraordinarily proud of my amazing team, and look forward to providing great jobs (and service) in this community — and, of course, helping our employee-owners develop the mindset and leadership skills necessary to expand the business, increase revenue, and manage new and exciting projects well into the future.

Passion project: I’m passionate about solving food insecurity in America. I was actively involved with the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas, and I hope to work with local nonprofits doing similar work here in Maine.

Audacious goal: Sam’s Italian and our 70-plus employee-owners are part of the Teamshares network, a group of 50-plus employee-owned businesses across 26 states and nearly 40 industries. Teamshares’ mission is to make employee ownership the future of small business. And our collective goal is as audacious as they come: to grow that network to 10,000 companies and create $10 billion in new wealth for hard-working Americans. This goal is big, but I know we can do it.

How do you recharge: I love to get outdoors and, lucky for me, Maine is ideal for outdoor recreation. If I’m not out fishing, you’ll probably find me watching baseball. Go Red Sox — and Sea Dogs!
