Bar Harbor hotel and coworking space team to attract more business travelers to region

A hotel and a coworking space in Bar Harbor are partnering in hopes of attracting more people to the area for working vacations over the winter.

The Mount Desert Islander reported that Acadia Hotel and Anchorspace will offer a room at the hotel and use of the coworking space for $100 per night during the months of January and February.

The cross-promotion attempt comes as the traditionally summer-dependent area has seen an increase in tourism business beyond Columbus Day.

Anchorspace, a coworking and meeting space that opened in April in downtown Bar Harbor, is within walking distance of the Acadia Hotel.

The owner of the working space, Nicole Ouellette, said it’s becoming more common for travelers to need to work a couple of hours or a day while on vacation.
