Bar Harbor to see increase in cruise ships
Bar Harbor is expecting an increase in cruise ship traffic this year.
The Mount Desert Islander reported 138 cruise ships are expected to arrive in the coastal town on Mount Desert Island this season — seven more than the previous year. Town documents estimate the number of cruise ship passengers is expected to increase by up to 17% from 2013. Bar Harbor is also expecting a large number of private yachts, though the newspaper didn't specify how many.
